I put my necklace on and haven’t taken it off. I slept in it last night and it was perfectly comfortable. I LOVE IT. Thank you for such an extraordinary expression of heart.

Laura’s necklaces are almost the only jewelry I wear anymore. Tara arrived home today - auspiciously on the 4th anniversary of my father's death.

She is just beautiil!! I smiled and smiled and smiled some more and welcomed her into my heart. Then I bathed her in some Tibetan incense and held her to my chest. Finally, I put her on. Perfect! The colors, the size of the beads, the image of Tara, it looks as if it grew from my body and has been there for centuries!

What a joyful creation. Thank you so

TARA UPDATE:

So I wore my necklace to bed last night and had the most vivid dream. And when I woke up I reflected on the dream and by afternoon had a poem in my head and wrote it down.

I never write poetry!

I have many of Laura's necklaces...each one a sacred treasure. I feel blessed with magic when I wear one...or two. A favorite story is that I once called Laura to say I wanted to gift a friend and to ask if she had a necklace that seemed appropriate. She called me back to say she had just remembered or "visioned" a necklace that she had created representing the Indonesian Rice Goddess, Dewi Shri, a pendant strung with orange beads. Although I wasn't sure that my friend would wear orange, I purchased it. When I gave it to her, she showed me an image of that very goddess that she had brought back from her journey to Indonesia and spoke of what it meant to her. And she was wearing orange! I love this story because it illustrates the way that Laura's necklaces come from such a deeply intuitive place....and how her jewelry takes that magic out into the world for all of us.

Thank you for my wonderful necklace. i have a hard time NOT wearing it. It just makes me feel good when I have it on. I rub my fingers along the beads and hold the amulet between my fingers. It gives me the feeling of peace. Can all this be had by a necklace...I guess it can. (: Everytime I wear it I get compliments on it. It is really beautiful. I am the fortunate “keeper” of three of Laura’s beautifully created necklaces. (For you don’t just “buy” these necklaces, they arrive in your life to guide you). They are each different in bead selection, color and energy intention and I wear them for very different purposes. Besides looking so uniquely gorgeous that I am often stopped on the street and asked about the jewelry artist, Laura’s inspiring beads serve as sensual touchstones reminding me of the magic connecting the material world and spirit.

The first piece that fell into my hands is shaped around a large circular metal imprint of a yogini. I have a picture of Laura draping me with this dark tiger colored necklace and so I always associate it with the fierceness and courage of Durga and her protective yoginis.

The second piece that I treasure dearly is made of yellow and white beads surrounding a saraswati image that I wear when I teach and perform. I touch the smooth stones that lay gently on my throat center when I need to remind myself of Saraswati’s power in words and sound.

The most recent piece that I received as a gift (my friends now know that Laura’s necklaces are on my permanent wishlist!) is a turquoise Buddhist Manjushri holding a sword over her head. She is very clear, strong and cuts through any “junk”! I wear her when I have to confront difficult issues that cloud my judgment and make me feel unstable.

Through the years, I have given most of my close friends and sisters Laura’s necklaces as gifts to celebrate their lives. Each comes with a story and so the process of finding a specific necklace allows me to really experience those dear to my heart as the gorgeous spirit beings they are- as beautiful, strong and unique as these magical beads.

Your writing has the same special quality as your necklaces! I was attracted to the Durga necklace right away, but imagined that She might be too "strong" for me. So I have been surprised at how warm and natural it feels to be connected to this energy. The longer borwn shells on the side feel really good and the skull beads also feel beneficent-as though they are saying that death is nothing to fear. Based on your necklace, I am coming ot the sense that Durga has this wonderful, beneficent aspect and I am so glad to be connected to it through you.
